Byron Beynon
Bubble

Lovers kiss inside a bubble
their faces floating
above a yellow roof;
beneath are many windows
where lives continue
to the beat of wings
too rarely seen.
Slowly you have become
the lost one,
without sense or grace
life has self-destructed,
fragile printed large
appears on a painted box
held by cold, doubting hands.
